WELCOME TO MY CREATIVE DIARY
This is a mismatched collection of things I make when no one is watching, for no other reason except that I like to make things. My secret is that I have a few different personas for creating strewn about the internet. Some for making comics. Some for telling stories. Others for unfiltered design explorations. I compiled a few selects here.
Feel free to take a scroll through my creative diary.
Once upon a time I had the brilliant and entirely unique idea to open an online shop and drop-ship graphic apparel. The concept was simple: make radical tenderness cool. I even sold a few things to some strangers across the world. The shop is now retired.
The Tender Hearts Club
Making radical tenderness cool again.
Paracord adventure sandals
As a foraging enthusiast, long walks are a theme in my life. As an aspiring bush crafter, paracord holds a weird obsession in my life. Coming from a long-line of Italian cordwainer’s, it’s only natural that getting fed-up with the current selection of available sandals to fit my very specific desires would lead me down the path of designing and making my own.
This is the shape of my foot. Insoles cut from veg tanned leather. Thick and durable but capable of forming to my foot over time like a good pair of Birkenstocks. Vibram traction outer soles were then attached at the bottom at the end of construction for a no-slip-grip
Creative round table & misc. posters
How do you connect with other creatives in a remote world? How do you make time to make things for fun and not for a client? To answer these burning questions no one asked, I created a re-occurring “Creative Round Table” and forced a group of young creatives to make non-client-related things for admission into a video happy hour. Each Round Table had a theme I made up relevant to the season, though admittedly few of us ever followed the theme. Beers and other drinks of choice made appearances. Laughs and critiques were had all-around. Below is a selection of my submissions plus a few posters from my time at Carmichael Lynch.
As a design heavy agency, there were multiple projects where visual people across the department threw down on poster series. These were a few of my swings and experiments.
Design scraps from the archive
My brother and I bought a 3D printer to make things and this was the business we would sell them under.
My number one inspiration is the planet. This was the beginning of a side project exploring how plastic has transformed our Earth.
Tea has become somewhat of a habit for me, so designing these posters were personal as part of the creative round table.
One time my friends and I had an idea of rating and reviewing snacks at work. This was our club name.
I mostly enjoyed illustrating food.
A selection of failed designs for various side projects that may or may not have transformed into other things entirely. They’ve been sitting in the archive, gathering dust for so long I figured it’s time they get to come out and show off a little bit. Some are still WIP but fun thought starters none-the-less.
