Through a partnership with Squink, a conductive ink printing company, IBM created a first of it's kind workbook called Inkventions that solves both issues of electronic waste and tech illiteracy among kids. The Inkvention Workbook teaches kids about technology while circumventing e-waste. This idea earned us a silver pencil at the 2015 Young Ones One Show.
We wanted to tackle two birds with one stone: solve the growing problem of tech-illiteracy in kids, as well as circumvent the increasing e-waste issue across the globe. By teaching kids basic electronics using old recycled toys with a tool that is easily accessible, we can help create a generation capable of fixing old electronic goods and disrupting the e-waste cycle.
